Description:
The unit aims to provide students with an understanding of human beings as biophysical entities by examining the normal structure and functions of cells, tissues and organs related to body systems. A functional knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology is assumed. Content will be related to specific body systems as required to illustrate fundamental biological, chemical and physical concepts. Assistance with basic mathematics, physics and chemistry will be available where required.

Assessment is by practical laboratory work, written assignment, examination.

Prerequisite(s): Registered Nurse.
